I picked my backyard
strawberries when I came home from Rexburg Sunday, but we've been munching on them. So this morning I stepped out to find a few more berries to make a batch of jam. Oh my!!! After an hour I had two LARGE HEAPING bowls. I'm scared to look at the front beds. They get less sun, but they haven't been picked yet this summer. I will probably end up with 2 more bowls. I better get going. I'm may need to make 4 batches of jam now.

I've come down with a cold (cough, runny nose, sore through, ect) and have just about lost my voice. I think its going into laryngitis. Good thing I gave my lecture at USU yesterday morning instead of today! I've been having hot and cold flashes, too. My poor muscles are shaking just from picking the back patch, so maybe I'll let Nate mow the lawn tonight. Sorry neighbors for the shaggy look.
While I was picking berries in the back Allie and Kylie were playing around in the yards. Kylie screamed and when I looked up she was covered in
blood. I rushed to scoop her and and ran her in the house. Luckily it was just from her nose and the water & washrag were enough to stop her cries. A casualties of childhood.

Well, just finished the front bed and thankfully it is more like 2 weeks behind the back berries. THANK YOU SHADE! I only got 1 bowl today. There are plenty of little white ones though, so they will be heavy next week. Don't you love how the picture above is pink? My camera is working, but only just. Sometimes it is all black, sometimes half black, sometimes pink & purple, and sometimes its just fine. I never know.
The tomatoes are are coming along nicely. We have one regular tomato & several cherry tomatoes on our four little plants.

The flowers are loving the heat. My roses buds are just starting to open. A neighbor brought me starts of my favorites: daises. I was afraid they wouldn't make it since it was a little late in the spring, but they are in full bloom now, happy as can be!

OOH, OOH, Make me some jam! I look at those pictures and think vanilla ice cream! You'd think after having to pick all the those strawberries for mom growing up we'd be a little less inclined to have huge patches ourselves:)
