Why do I Blog?

Life is so fast & furious with 3 young children, working from home, ect that I fear I will forget the lovely details of my girls' precious childhood.

My main motivation for blogging is to capture the every day moments...so I don't forget them before I have a chance to scrapbook. Sharing with you is just an added bonus. Keeping this blog has helped me get the photos off my camera's memory card and label/organize them on my laptop. It is the BEST tool I have for scrapbooking. I haven't ever been able to keep a journal, but this I can do. I don't pretend to have anything interesting to say. In fact I'm sure this little blog is boring to you, but to me it is priceless!

1 Kylie helps with laundry

Yesterday while I was cleaning up dinner, Nate and the girls were 'folding laundry'. I looked up to find this.
Kylie calls this her 'mommy boobies'.

Yes, it is HUGE -and- worst is that it FITS, me that is. It will get worst still when baby gets here. Can I just say that the almost 2 years of pregnancy/nursing are terrible, not only on my body image, but in regards to finding clothes (inside and out) that fit and don't look like a granny. There. My rant is done. Go ahead and laugh at the pics. I still do, although the tears are both happy & sad ;)

Note: check out Nate in the background! Typical.

Oh, and Kylie still wears the 'Cinderella Dress' everywhere, including to bed. Its going on two months now and the poor dress is showing how loved it has been. I've been amazed at how well it cleans up: food, grass, blood, ect. It has not held up so well paired with her bicycle - see the tears along the hem.

1 Today was lovely, tomorrow will be hotter, but the next day it will snow…really???

Nothing says sunny day like sidewalk chalk.

Kylie is so skinny she has a hard time keeping her pants up.

The evening was so nice, the whole family got into cleaning out the flower beds. My belly felt so big bending over and I got terrible heartburn.

4 Book Report

If you would like to borrow any of the following, I now own them all.

2 weeks ago:

Impossible

by Nancy Werlin (B+)

This was a fairy tale in the old sense, where not everything that is magic is nice and sweet. I bought it at the bookstore since I couldn’t wait till my online ordered books (see below) were delivered. When the urge to binge read comes, I must have my drug.

Last Week :

Conspiracy of KingsA Conspiracy of Kings

by Megan Turner (A-)

This is the 4th book in a series of potentially 6. I read the first 3 a few months ago after my sisters and mother suggested them. This one just came out this month, too. They are really good books, although they do start off slow. Give them a chance!

The Thief Queen of Attolia King of Attolia

This Week:

The Girl Who Chased the Moon

by Sarah Addison Allen (A)

This is Sarah’s third book and it just came out this month. I loved her fairy tail, magical first two books ‘Garden Spells’ & ‘The Sugar Queen’ and have been waiting for this one. They are really quick reads that are fun.

Next week:

Uglies, Pretties, & Specials

by Scott Westerfeld

I’ve been looking at this series for a long time and finally ordered it. It should come any day now. I know there is a 4th book (Specials) that I guess I’ll have to get next, too. Have you read them?

1 Tree hair-cuts

We planted these trees years ago, like 7 years ago…before grass and kids. Its fun to see them growing, but they were getting a bit out of hand. So, Nate bought a pole-saw and we gave them haircuts yesterday. Here’s the boy with his new toy.

Before Nate got home, I mowed the lawn. WOW! I don’t remember it being such an exhausting task. Even though I feel healthier than the past 2 trimesters, my energy level is lower then every before.

I can’t wait to meet this baby!

2 Silly Birds

Once again, there are more pics of Kylie.  I think I’m realizing now that’s because Allie is spending most of her time with friends, while Kylie still likes to spend time with good old boring mom.

Oh, and notice no jackets but summer clothes!

0 Picnics & Parks

One of the best benefits that comes with cutting back my work hours, is the flexible lunch time. With the warm weather we’ve visits many parks and picnicked plenty.

I’m finding it harder and harder to get pictures of Allie. I think I’m going to have to put more effort into getting shots of her. Have you notice Kylie’s hair in all the recent pictures? She always asks for the same ‘do’…a headband-braid. She love having it in, but cries every time I start braiding. Silly girl.

Oh, and here’s a pic of my belly last week (end of 2nd trimester…only 3 months to go!).

1 Pet-sitter for Hire

IMG_3777

Last weekend Allie was asked to feed the neighbors fish while they went on vacation.  She was very responsible and made sure I didn’t forget.  She even insisted that Kylie get to help, so she wouldn’t feel left out.

Allie is planning on how to spend her $2.  I think she’s going to buy a book with the book order that came the next school day.

0 Almost spring

At the first of the month, we had a few days that were warm enough to forgo the hats, gloves, and snowpants.  The girls reveled in using the chalk the Easter Bunny brought them.

 IMG_3724 IMG_3725

by the end of the week we dropped down to sweaters and even had a picnic in our front yard.
