Questions #1) Do I add an initial to each stocking to designate who they are for? It would be easy, but Santa is not filling these (I don't want them to get stretched out). Yes, we have other stockings for gifts.
Question #2) Do I go ahead and make a few extra for future additions to our family? NO! We are not expecting, but I'm fairly sure we will have at least one more kid & I'd like them to all match.

I LOVE your stockings they are adorable!!! I love how you did different colors too. so talented!!!
I am wanting to learn, but I would want them for Santa...any ideas to make them stronger? Q1-YES initials! LOVE initials! Q2- I always make the stockings as the kids come. Since you have the pattern, and the yarn is different, you can always make another later. PROCRASTINATE!
Maren - thanks for the input. I think I will put initials on them. Also, I think you need two sets of stockings: one for Santa & another set for decoration in your entryway. As I remember you DID learn how to crochet WITH ME, when we were about 68-10 yrs old...in 4-H with mom. We made a million of those crocheted butterflies with the magnets on the back for the fridge. Abby just made long chains...or 'jump ropes' as she called them. Anyway, I'd be glad to give you a refresher course. I'll think about reinforcing.
Sarah, these turned out Beautiful! I love them and I too, think initials are a must! I made our stockings too, but they aren't crocheted, and now I wish I would have done that!
Hayley, you could always have two sets, one upstairs & one in your new downstairs!
I can't believe how fast you turned these out! Friday you only had the one done. Obviously I am still nowhere near as fast as you. I love them and I agree with Maren, wait for the next kid before doing the stocking.
