Tuesday was nice. Very nice. The girls & I went to "work" with Nate. We drove to a farm in Richman (10 miles north of here) and pulled an old baler out of a field & down to the recycling yard. Balers are MUCH easier to haul than swathers, if you ever have to choose between the two farm implements. Balers don't have the swather's spring suspended mechanism that bounces on the road (see past posts), so you can haul them at speeds near the normal driving range, instead of at a snail's crawl.
This picture is of an old "M" tractor on the same farm. I grew up driving the one my Grandfather owned, which my father still uses. Dad is now piecing 2 more "M"s together to make 1. I'm sure he'd love to have this one too.
After the farm, we retrieved an old car from 4th North (a 4 lane major road) in Logan. The car was sitting in the driveway with several flat tires and couldn't start. Good thing Nate's equipment stash now includes a portable air tank. It sure came in handy, once again. Since we couldn't block traffic with the truck & trailer, Nate steered the car while the two female roommates & I pushed it out of the driveway, down the street (against traffic!) and into a funeral home parking lot. You are probably asking yourself several questions right now, I will try to address the most obvious.
1) Why against traffic? Since it was down hill
2) Why girls push & Nate steer? No brakes
3) Why a funeral home? large, empty parking lot
Nate did have to ask the girls if they had heard about the place in front of which we stood...'people are dying to get in here". LOL It's one of Nate's favorite jokes.
Next: lunch. We picked up yummy sandwiches, chips, cookies, & drinks at 'the Old Gris Miss' & had a picnic on the grass & fall leaves. I must admit, my will power was crushed by the power of those delicious chocolate chip cookies. The weather was terrific; the company superb! What a way to spend a day - with the ones you love.
While driving tither & yawn I was able to crochet a few pot holders, in preparation for the next '15th ward relief society crochet group' I am in charge of. After some more "scrap'n" (the recycling kind, not my hobby kind), we were even able to hit the local pumpkin walk. What a great day.
Oh, I haven't lost any weight lately. I've been faithfully adhering to the Weight Watcher's Points (plan A) for 6 weeks & only lost 2 pounds. I bought larger summer clothes, but I really don't want to spend any money on larger winter clothes. Right now I only have 2 pairs of pants I can get on. I've even worn my one pair of jeans (from the DI) every time I've taught at USU this semester. Talk about too causal! Its really weighing me down. So much so, I got the treadmill out of storage this morning (plan B) & went for 20 min. If you know me, you know how desperate I must be to resort this low. Tomorrow I'll do 30 min. I'm giving my body 2 more weeks. If the status quo continues on the combination plan A-B, I'm going to have to come up with a plan C. Any suggestions?

Its so nice you get this chance to go to work with Nate. Blessing in disguise?
Definitely. We are really enjoying all the family time. It is very fun.
You need to realize that you look beautiful! And for the record, I could eat at the grist mill daily!
Hayley, I edited my post to reflect that it is not so much that I think I don't look good, but rather the practical aspect of not being able to wear the perfectly good cloths in my closet. I'm too cheep to go buy new things; I just want to wear what I already have. But thanks for the compliment. I'll take it any day!
You don't know me, but I'm Abby and Devony's freind Abby DaBell(One). I'm doing WW too and I was stuck at a plateau and very frustrated (I've had several plateaus after this baby, believe me that I know how frustrating it is!). I found some menus for WW that I've been using for the last week, and lost 4 pounds! If you'd like me to e-mail them to you, just post a comment on my blog. Hope I didn't freak you out with the random person posting a comment! :)
Sarah-
You look great! And I really do think it takes a whole year after a baby to get where you want to be! It was that way with me and everyone else I talk to! That sounds like a fun day you had! Any yes the Old Grist Mill is always good, especially the sugar cookies, I could eat one everyday!!! We missed you last night at the bag class, all the girls said it was easier than they thought, you are a good sewer though, so it should be a piece of cake!! I am adding you to my link I hope that's okay!
Loved the pics of the Allie in the blue dress. I would like to do something like that for the reunion next year. What do you think? Maybe we could blow up pics of some old ancestors and put a place for the kids to sit on their laps? And speaking of reunion...how about makeing some of those pot holders for the Jemmett Family auction? Are you keeping a picture log of the cars, trucks, tractors, etc that Nate is collecting?
Family auction? I want to hear more about that! No on the log. I suggested that it would be a good idea to photograph every load...for several reasons, but I got "the look". I try to get shots every time I go with him, but that isn't very often.
